In a recent forum with the New York Times, World Bank President David Malpass refused to acknowledge the climate crisis is here and that it’s manmade. He dodged the question saying he’s “not a scientist.”
Malpass is a climate denier and it’s ridiculous to have him leading an institution like the World Bank.
The Biden Administration has signaled that they’re open to sacking Malpass, but only if we keep the pressure up.
He’s not a scientist? Okay, well then we’re going to keep our calls for him to resign and read the IPCC report to him outside the World Bank headquarters on Tuesday morning during his all staff meeting.

The climate crisis is coming for all of us, so we’re inviting anyone and everyone to come and read a page. We’d specifically love it if you could come read one. We’re building on the momentum of people around the world calling for Malpass’s ouster, and a protest we held Thursday morning, which already landed in the New York Times, NPR, Reuters, and more.
Here are the details:
WHO: Activists from The Climate Reality Project, Friends of the Earth US, Glasgow Actions Team, front line communities in West Virginia, Bill McKibben, and many, many, many more (there’s a lot to read them!)
WHAT: The Climate Science is Settled: Protest to Fire Malpass
WHERE: Community Park outside World Bank headquarters
WHEN: Tuesday, September 27, 8:30 AM ET
VISUALS: Activists will set up a stage in front of the World Bank HQ in Washington DC and read the entire IPCC report over megaphones pointed at the building, with banners and placards calling for his ouster.
