UPDATE:
Because the vast majority of folks who were planning on attending this training have a significant amount of action experience themselves AND because we have so much work to do to coordinate the SIX actions we’re holding over the next three days, we’re going to use this time to hold a Spokes Council to coordinate among the different organizations and affinity groups that are working to pull this week of action together.
Same bat time, same bat location:
Tuesday, October 11th at 6:30pm at the Friends Meeting House 2111 Decatur Pl NW.
If you’re part of an affinity group, organization, or working group planning actions during the For People For Planet mobilization, PLEASE make sure that someone from your group is at this spokes council to coordinate with everyone else. And if you’re not involved in the organizing yet, this is a great opportunity to find out about all of the great actions that are happening and get plugged in.
If you had your heart set on going to a training this week, don’t worry… you’ll probably learn more during this two hour spokes council than you would during a week’s worth of trainings.
This October we’re going to take bold direct action to disrupt business as usual for the International Monetary Fund and World Bank to create a better future for the people and for the planet that we love. Planning on joining us in the streets? Join us for a Direct Action Training on Tuesday, October 11 from 6:30-8:30pm at the Friends Meeting House at 2111 Decatur Pl NW, Washington, DC 20008.
In this two-hour session, we will cover cover:
What is direct action?!
Strategic uses of direct action
Working together in an action
